James (Jim) Carlson

James (Jim) Christian Carlson was born into the Carlson family on Nov. 13, 1961 at the Coronado hospital. Jim attended Central School, played Little League Baseball and starred in the Coronado Allstar Team. While attending Coronado High School, he participated on the CHS Golf and CHS Tennis teams. He graduated in the class of ‘79.

After high school, Jim enlisted for four years in the United States Air Force. While serving as a trained aircraft mechanic, he had the pleasure of being on the USAF softball team.

Jim moved to Denver and with his finished carpentry skills started his own company Christo Construction.

Jim is survived by his daughters Amelia and Riley Carlson of Denver.

Our sweet Jim had a big heart that expired on March 8, 2016 at home in Chula Vista. He will be missed by his brothers and sisters: Dave, Kathy (Matulich), Vicki ( LaBarre), Patrick, and Laurie (Rodriguez) and our father ret. Cdr. George Carlson.

We know he is joining Mom and Michael and is at peace.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be in Imperial Beach. For information contact Patrick Carlson at corman28us@gmail.com.
