South Bay Union School District is recruiting for substitute teachers and substitute classified staff, including maintenance, landscaping, and custodial positions.

Substitute teachers must have a 4-year degree, a 30-day substitute teaching permit, and a negative tuberculosis (TB) test. The teaching permit authorizes the holder to serve as a day-to-day Substitute Teacher in any classroom, including preschool, and grades TK-12. South Bay offers competitive pay rates: substitute teachers – $280/day and substitute preschool teachers – $40/hour.
Classified substitutes in the areas of custodial, landscaping, and maintenance receive a $100/day bonus, in addition to a competitive hourly rate. These positions offer flexible hours (daytime/nighttime) at convenient locations throughout the district. Classified substitutes must have: a high school diploma; a negative tuberculosis ( TB) test; and a clear background check.
