South Bay Urgent Care offered physicals to Mar Vista High School (MVHS) Athletes on Saturday, July 27, for a low cost of $20 per student, which was ultimately donated back to Mar Vista sports.

“South Bay Urgent Care, for the third year in a row, donated all proceeds to MVHS Athletics,” said Tyler Arciaga, MVHS athletic director. “This goes towards specific teams who send their athletes [for the physicals] and to help fund MVHS Year-End Athletics Awards every June.”

Approximately 140 student-athletes were screened and approximately $2,800 was raised for MVHS Athletics. Each MVHS athlete received a goodie-bag with freebies from the following participating businesses:

CME Mortgage, Coronado/Ashley Ortega (water bottles), Seaside Candy (candy bags), BabyCakes Cafe (2-for-1 cupcakes), Cow-A-Bunga (.50 cents off purchase), Sound of Beach ($1 off), 7-11 ($1 off), El Sonorense Mexican Seafood ($2 off), Sombero’s (free drink with purchase), Jersey Mike’s (free drink & chips with purchase),

D-K-Che ($1 off), Surf Hut (10% off), Ollie’s Skate Shop ($2 off), Subway ($! off), Imperial Beach Nite Owls (Capri Sun Juice, Trail Mix, Granola Bars), Good Times Barber Shop ( $1 off).

“We want to thank those businesses for their continued support of MVHS Athletics,” said Arciaga. “Also, a special thanks to Dr. Matt and Kim Dickson, Bonni Arnold and their wonderful staff at South Bay Urgent Care for making this happen. They are truly a blessing to the community.”
