South Bay Union School District is seeking applications from qualified and interested residents to serve as a member of the Governing Board to fill the balance of a four-year term in Trustee Area 4 that expires in December 2022. This seat will be on the ballot of the November 8, 2022 General Election.
The vacancy occurred due to the resignation of Board Member Louis Barrios on May 2, 2022. The Board voted on May 9, 2022 to fill the vacancy with an appointment rather than an expensive Special Election.
The Board will make the appointment immediately after interviews are conducted at a Special Board Meeting on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 6 p.m. in Buress Auditorium (601 Elm Avenue, Imperial Beach).

Any person is eligible to be a member of the Governing Board, without further qualifications, is he/she is 18 years of age or older, a citizen of California, a resident of Trustee Area 4 of the school district, a registered voter, and not legally disqualified from holding civil office.
Applications must be received in the District Office no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022.
