Over 20 Imperial Beach restaurants teamed up with the Chamber of Commerce on a sunny Saturday afternoon, April 27, to showcase the growing variety of eateries in this Classic Southern Californian town.

Several hundred people took advantage of this once a year opportunity to sample food from almost every restaurant along Seacoast Drive and Palm Avenue. Some restaurants, like the Red House Kitchen, set up in small tents at the corner of Seacoast and Palm since their main location was several blocks away.

Each restaurant provided a small plate of something special from their menu. The VFW and Mike Hess Brewing also had samples of some local beers. While the paper plates they used were small they were usually filled to overflowing and everyone had plenty to eat by the time it was over.

The Taste of IB took place from noon to 4 p.m., which only allowed about 10 minutes per restaurant if you wanted to catch them all.
