The health and wellness of the residents of Imperial Beach is a top priority for the Imperial Beach City Council. They continue to drive full speed ahead, advocating for better programming and facilities for youth, families and especially our most vulnerable residents, our seniors.

The City Council and staff tirelessly fight for world class facilities to enhance the recreational opportunities to our residents, advocating to elected officials for funding. Many residents have followed the process for the new swimming pool, which will give our youth a better opportunity to learn how to swim, continue to build our Junior Lifeguard program, and of course grow surfers of the future right from this authentic little beach town.

Staff is continuously seeking opportunities to fund a new community center that will not only serve our youth, adult education, and families, but also provide an updated facility to serve our seniors.

As we continue to build world class facilities, the City Council has also directed staff to create world class programming for our residents. Programming needs to be unique to the needs of our diverse community so we are seeking input from those who will benefit, our residents.

We are conducting a Parks & Recreation survey with a focus on programming during and post COVID-19. Your input will provide staff with direction to move forward toward reopening safe and comfortable environments for you and your family to learn and play.
