Ninth Annual Discover OVRP Day Is May 18

Featuring animal encounter booths, environment and safety stewardship booths, nature crafts, photo contests and food, the ninth annual Discover Otay Valley Regional Park (OVRP) Day on Saturday, May 18, has something for everyone. All ages are welcome at this free event!

Some of the events:

Mountain Biking from 8 to 10 a.m., starting at San Diego County Otay Lakes Regional Park, 2270 Wueste Road, Chula Vista. This ride will be led by the San Diego Mountain Biking Association and is intended for mid-level mountain bike riders. Maximum of 40 people, must RSVP by calling 619-424-0463.

Horseback Riding from  9 to 11 a.m., starting at staging area 210 Mace Street, Chula Vista. Bonita Valley Horsemen will lead.

Birding from 8 to 9:30 a.m., starting at the Ranger Station located at 2155 Beyer Blvd., San Diego. Birding experts from the San Diego Audubon Society will introduce you to the wonder of birding in urban parks.

Nature Walk from 10 to 11:30 a.m., starting at 500 Saturn Boulevard, San Diego. Canyoneers from the San Diego Natural History Museum will take you on a discovery walk.

Event Day Celebration - Join us for booths, crafts (10 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and food (noon to 1 p.m.) at 500 Saturn Boulevard, San Diego.
