The Imperial Beach Neighborhood Center celebrated Grandparents’ Day with the residents of St. James Plaza on Saturday, Sept. 12. The Neighborhood Center’s celebration included a free lunch of grilled hot dogs, chips, granola bar and water. Also, provided were crossword and sudoku puzzles, coloring books and crayons for the residents.

Adding to the day, Girl Scout Troop 6507 and Imperial Beach Cub Scout Troop #866 made Grandparent Day cards that were distributed by the Plaza’s director onto resident’s doors.

City Councilmember Mark West and Council candidate Matthew Leyba-Gonzalez sponsored the celebratory meal and were present to lend a hand grilling and assembling the lunch bags.

The IB Neighborhood Center happily welcomes sponsorship from any individuals or groups who want to support community. If interested, contact the IB Neighborhood Center at 619-947-6057.
