The Emory Academy of Global Leadership and Empowerment hosted their annual Health and Safety Fair on Friday, April 12.
The event began with a school-wide flash mob and was supported by many community and school volunteers. The San Ysidro Health Clinic allowed students to tour their mobile medical center and provided information about the sugar content in various foods. Homeland Security Investigations Special Agents showed off their equipment and shared information about internet safety. The Federal Naval Fire Department allowed students to tour their ambulance and fire truck. Students enjoyed opportunities to line dance and practice tae kwon do. A highlight of the event was a visit from the Customs and Border Patrol Air and Marines Operation super fast 42 foot cigarette boat.
This event emphasizes the strong community partnerships at the Emory Academy of Global Leadership and Empowerment.
