San Diego’s premier wine judge, Brad Bruce of the Chefs de Cuisine Association of San Diego provided educational wine information and entertainment over the course of six tastings, all paired with local food items. SunCoast Board President Kim Frink matched donations at the event, and a total of $2,840 was raised to help secure a site for the food market.

SunCoast Market launched its fundraising event with an Ugly Sweater Wine tasting event at Arandas Café.

The menu included a variety of locally sourced foods from county Line Harvest (hinona kabu turnips); The Garden of…(rainbow carrots); Milliken Family Farms (green and purple Brussels sprouts); Frog Hollow Farm (warren pears); Girls & Dug Farms (Tokyo negi onions); Weiser Farms (fingerling potatoes); Farmers Daughter Olive Oil and Specialty Food Store (honeycomb); Mindful Mushrooms (blue oyster mushrooms); breadsticks from Rockin Wagner; decadent gluten free desserts fro the GF Baking Company, along with other amazing items from Specialty Produce.

Consider joining the co-op and donating to SunCoast’s year end site selection fundraiser at www.suncoastmarket.coop/support. SunCoast has surpassed the goal of 800 owners this past weekend with 804. SunCoast Market plans on opening a store that makes it easy for residents to buy local foods and products seven days a week.
