Suncoast Market with farm-fresh goods has been busy. Here are some progress updates on opening:

Site Selection Update: Our Site Selection team has begun identifying potential sites in Imperial Beach. After soliciting applications, the Board approved Voit Real Estate Services as our broker agency. We are excited to work with them as viable locations emerge. In order to commit to a lease agreement, our aim is 700 owners. We need about 140 new owners for this to happen and request your support in referring new owners to our co-op! Consider posting, texting, or emailing our new video to anyone who hasn’t joined.

Making ownership accessible to all: We are beyond excited to launch our Ownership Assistance Program. Thanks to donations from our owners, we will be offering $100 ownerships to those experiencing financial hardship or receiving government assistance. Application available on our website, Spreading the word about this program will help us grow and diversify our ownership in the community.

Input needed: SunCoast Market and several local food focused organizations have been working with San Diego Food System Alliance to help shape the 10 year vision for food across the County. From farms to processing to waste, our food system needs attention to assure that it’s just and sustainable. Please complete this quick survey off our website that tells the County what matters most to you when it comes to food. These results could lead to funding and programs for our community, your participation is essential. Ends August 21st so don’t delay!

Produce Boxes: When COVID struck, SunCoast pivoted quickly to provide fresh produce pick up. The need has reduced so we will be discontinuing the produce box program. Current orders will be fulfilled and then we will return to focusing on ownership growth and opening a store that brings excellent food to you every day.

Finally, stay tuned for an upcoming Popsicles & Smoothies class on our Facebook and Instagram pages! If you have ideas for future events or would like to lead an event, please contact us to schedule. We love fresh ideas!

We hope that you are able to continue finding joy in this uncertain times. And if you are struggling and need assistance, please visit our website, and visit our Covid Resource page.
